Product links can be found below. Save big money and camp happy in a dry tent by making your own seam sealer with a simple mixture of 100% clear silicone and mineral spirits. A tube of silicone caulking that you can use with a caulking gun will be about 10oz. When you put that into a mixing bowl and add the mineral spirits up to the 20oz mark, you will get a half and half mixture. Of course you can make less with the supplies. The mixing bowl and brush each were only $1 at Dollar Tree and after purchasing the 100% silicone caulking and the mineral spirits, the total cost was only about $10 for 20oz of solution. For the average tent, half of this would be plenty.

Add years to the life of your tent and camp happy with a dry tent! Prepare your tent for seam sealing by setting up the tent and cleaning it. Try shaking out the crumbs and leaves and wiping off any dirt with a damp towel.
