A few weeks ago, I received this email from an online scammer calling himself N. Saghar. The email promised me hundreds of thousands of dollars in fake Covid-19 relief funds. I replied to this scammer using a fake name, and came to learn that he wanted over $1000 in Amazon gift cards to pay for “fees” in order to process my relief funds. Along with my business partner, I continued to communicate with him over dozens of emails, and even phone calls - in an effort to waste his time and expose the inner workings of his scam.

But I wanted to take it a step further. After finishing the YouTube video with the full exposé, I continued to communicate with him to see if he would agree to video chat with me - so I could expose his face to the entire world. As one of the most stubborn scammers I’ve ever encountered, he adamantly refused. But his greed and desperation got the best of him, and I got him to accept my Google Hangout invite, revealing another name he uses, Anthony Richards.

After over 150 email exchanges, he finally agreed to video chat anonymously so I could show him the gift card numbers over webcam. What happened next chilled me to my bone, and still does until this moment. Do not try this at home.
