In this video, I’m going to show you how to beat the boss in Kaeula’s Rest: Kaeula’s Shadow, as well as give you some tips and tricks that you can use during the fight!

Before we start, we have to talk about something very important: moving around during the fight. If you look on the ground, you’ll see floating leaves in the water. These are the areas that you can walk and dodge. If you go into the areas where there aren’t any leaves, you’ll be in the water where your movement will be significantly hindered. So it’s very important that during the boss fight that you try to stay on the leaves!

Okay, so at the start of the fight, you want to stay by the entrance and start shooting the boss. He will immediately spawn a tentacle. The initial tentacles do a vertical smash, so you can just side roll the tentacle attack and keep shooting the boss. The boss will then burrow underground and start running at you. You want to stay on the leaves so you can run away.

After enough damage, he will phase into the 2nd phase where he spawns a bunch of tentacles. These tentacles only do a vertical smash, so you can sideroll to dodge their attacks. Ideally, you want to kill them from range.
Here’s a tip: It seems like the boss will NOT come back up until all the tentacles are dead. So before killing the last tentacle, make sure you grab all the ammo on the ground, heal up if you are low on health, and make sure all of your weapons are reloaded. Once all that is done, you can kill the last tentacle and the boss will reappear!

This time, he has a new attack: he sends a wave of water at you, which you can avoid (or try to avoid) by standing behind one of the pillars. Keep damaging the boss until he spawns the 2nd set of tentacles. These tentacles are a little harder to deal with because instead of doing a vertical attack, they do a horizontal sweep, which means you cant side-dodge these attacks. I found that the easiest way is to run away from them and shoot them from range. Again, before killing the last tentacle, make sure you use your health relic, reload your guns, and pick up any ammo you need. When the last tentacle is dead, the boss respawns. It should be an easy kill from here.
