Vasco Da Gama had found his way to India in 1498, yet other than Portuguese no other Country from Europe reached India till after more than 100 years. This video explores the reasons as to Why it happened and How Jan Huyghen Van Linschoten through his Book – Itinerario - facilitated the arrival of English, Dutch, French, Danes and many others in India in Seventeenth Century. Linschoten and his book have had much more and deeper impact on India and her history, which remains unknown to Indians.
