Its main claim to fame is probably that despite its small size and compact dimensions it still manages to hold a surprising amount of stuff due to some clever design and subtle gusseted patterning - and does so in a way that is quite accessible with a single zip when worn on the hip. As a small side-carry style bag, it also works well paired with backpacks such as when One Bag Traveling and makes a handy plane/travel companion to keep your valuables with you at your seat when traveling by air.

Potential downsides include the curious omission of any form of keychain/key retention, comparatively (but perhaps intentionally) little organization that means a lot of things just end up being "thrown into" the bag in a jumble, and at 1L, an obvious upper bound on what you can get into this thing.

Despite (or perhaps because of) its simplicity, the Tokyo Sidebag 1L is currently my ready-to-go companion sling for when I’m doing one bag travel, packed with all of my travel documents and essentials and ready to grab before heading out the door. It also features heavily in my EDC sling rotation for the days when I am looking for a small sling for just more than pockets plus. If either of these things sound like interesting use cases then the Bellroy Tokyo Sidebag 1L may be worth taking a look at.
