Extinction Rebellion co-founder Clare Farrell asks the the hosts of this year's COP on biodiversity how they will prevent another failure.

The race to protect the planet's biodiversity will be the central theme this October, when representatives from countries around the world meet in Cali, Colombia, for the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity, known as "COP16 PEACE WITH NATURE".

The UK's environmental organisations are requesting on the UK's Government delegation to COP16 on Biodiversity to address the issue of Social and Mining Justice for the Global South:

The unregulated exploitation of countries of the Global South is leading to the loss of biodiversity and the extinction of entire indigenous communities.
In addition, huge sovereign debt burdens and unfair bilateral investment treaties with countries from the Global North such as the UK, impoverish governments in the Global South and do not allow them to take the necessary measures to mitigate the climate and environmental crisis.

We call on activists and organisations to add their names as signatories to the following letter.
