On part 14 I manage to start shaping what looks to be a roof rack from an old scrap people carrier that was lying around on the farm.
The challenge is to get scrap steel prepped for welding and painting. New steel - or even aluminum would be a much better choice, but if life gives you lemons...
The roof rack will be heavy when complete, but we put some good thought into mounting positions and brackets. The rack was basically designed around the A/C (yet to be connected and gassed). It had to be stable, secure, and protect the unit. It also has to serve as the sundowners deck, so the angle of the backrest/wind deflector had to be just right.
We're a bit behind on the progress videos, but check out for the next one where we finally start cladding the exterior!
