U.S. Air Force Gen. Jacqueline Van Ovost, commander, U.S. Transportation Command, talked with American Forces Network-Europe on December 16, 2023, about her trip to meet with North Atlantic Treaty Organization, European Union, and U.S. government and military officials in Europe last week. Van Ovost’s engagements in Belgium, Poland and Germany focused on how the command and its allies can address evolving security challenges on the continent and support to Ukraine.

USTRANSCOM’s vital contribution to national security is evident in the command’s ongoing support to #ukraine and the European Command effort in support of our NATO allies. The Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise’s agility and responsiveness allows for the rapid deployment of troops and equipment to the EUCOM theater as an assure and deter effort, as well as the delivery of security assistance to Ukraine.

U.S. Transportation Command is a unified, functional combatant command which provides support to the ten other U.S. combatant commands, the military services, defense agencies and other government organizations. USTRANSCOM conducts globally integrated mobility operations, leads the broader Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise, and provides enabling capabilities in order to project and sustain the Joint Force in support of national objectives.
