I have switched from straight Osmocote fertilizer to using the Rootmaker 8 fertilizer for container soil mixes. I show you how I convert the ratio of Rootmaker 8 fertilizer for use in smaller quantities. This is the soil mix and fertilizer for Transplanting trees, shrubs and starter plants. I got this recipe from Carl Whitcomb’s books, basically peat moss, fine ground bark mulch and now using the Rootmaker fertilizer.
