TULSI VRINDAVANS OF GOA
In most places in India, the Tulsi lost it's importance, but under an oppressive
Portuguese regime, it become a symbol of identity for the Goan Hindu.
In some areas, they become very large resembling Red Indian Totem poles.
A house with a Tulasi plant is sometimes considered a place of pilgrimage. The sacred groves where these herbs are grown are also known as Vrindavan (grove of Tulasi), a miniaturised Vrindavan is a raised cuboid stone or brick structure often in middle of the house's courtyard or in front of the house.
