This is the song that inspired this whole project. I had a phrase going round my head for days and was sure it was from an old standard, but I couldn't place it. Eventually I realised it was mine - I think I dreamt it! So I wrote the rest of the song and asked Ella if she'd be interested in recording it with me, having heard some of her things and been blown away by her beautiful voice and musicality. The project grew from there. Because of pandemic restrictions and being in different countries, we couldn't get in a studio together to record live, and it was a bit of a strange experience collaborating on this kind of music without the sponataneity of live performance, but we are really happy with the way the recordings came out and we hope you'll enjoy them!
