Henry Grabar is a journalist in Cambridge, Mass. He writes the Metropolis column for Slate. Most recently he’s the author of Paved Paradise: How Parking Explains the World, which was named one of the best books of 2023 by the New Yorker and the New Republic. His work has also appeared in outlets including the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Wall Street Journal, 99 Percent Invisible, Bloomberg City Lab, and Architectural Record.
