What happens when two young men visit the Philippines for the first time? Join us on PHILIPPINE MAGAZINE as Englishman Ashley and German Florian dive headfirst into the rich culture and adventures that the Philippines has to offer.

Watch as they bravely take on Filipino street food, including the infamous balut (hatched duck eggs), along the scenic Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete. The adventure continues in Dauin, where they learn to scuba dive from our family friend Gibson, who also runs a diving school at the stunning Sugar Beach in Sipalay, Negros Occidental.

The excitement doesn't stop there. Ashley and Florian decide to commemorate their trip with their first tattoos, done by Mark Kristofer Diamano, another close friend of the family. Mark brings his tattoo skills directly to our home by the sea, allowing the duo to enjoy their new ink on the veranda with a breathtaking ocean view. Mark also runs his own tattoo parlour in Dumaguete City.

As the trip winds down, the inevitable happens—the two young men fall in love with local girls. At the airport, emotional goodbyes are exchanged, and promises are made to return. But as any traveler to the Philippines knows, the adventures don’t end with the first visit. There’s always something new to discover on each return.
