Locking through the Melton Hill dam early in the morning, we make our way south, back down the Clinch to the big river. We anchored overnight in the beautiful FooShee Bend area of Watts Bar. Next morning, we meander down river and lock through Watts Bar Lock, then take a little side trip up Sewee creek for lunch and a walk. We continue down river to the mouth of the Hiwassee spending the night in the Blythe Ferry area. In Part 4 we will head upstream as far as we can safely navigate on the Hiwassee.
