Haslie Ali, husband of the late navy officer Joanna Felicia Rohna, still manages to smile as he reminisced about the good times they shared together, and also her unique morning wake-up calls.

Describing his late wife as both sweet and tough, the 33-year-old reflects on her talkative, friendly nature that initially drew him to her.

“If she wanted to wake me up, she would yell ‘woi!’, like that,” he recalled the simple word that carried a sweetness and tender affection that has now become a memory of a cherished past.

Joanna was among 10 navy personnel who lost their lives in a crash involving two helicopters in Lumut, Perak on Tuesday (April 23, 2024).
