When I saw this wooden tabletop from a garden table, I immediately realized that it could be restored, as despite its damaged and aged appearance, the wood was likely still in good condition. Tropical wood can be in perfect condition even if it doesn't look like it. The first part is to remove all the rusty screws to separate all the wooden pieces. Some break, and a couple of those screws don't want to come out, but in the end, I was able to remove them all. If any break and can't be removed, we can file them down to be flush with the wood. After a lot of sanding and cutting some new circles for the center of the table, the only part where the wood was a bit rotten, I applied exterior primers to the wood and reassembled all the pieces of the garden table's tabletop.

The trick we must not forget when doing a restoration job like this, where many identical wooden pieces need to be separated, is to number all the pieces well to know where each one goes, or it will be impossible to match all the screw holes.
