Learn how to write a chapter book! This video is for kids who want to write a book. Brainstorm your idea and characters first. Then, this video will help you write your first chapter. Then, start with the chapter one video. I will help you write a twelve-chapter book. I'll guide you from the beginning to the middle to the end of your book. Then you can publish it.

FIRST, brainstorm your story idea and watch the videos in the brainstorming playlist. Then follow each of these chapters and you'll have a really strong story!

I'm a published novelist (Penguin and Disney-Hyperion) and a teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching creative writing and English as a Second Language. Penguin is publishing my writing guide: The Busy Writer's Guide to Finishing a Novel in 100 Days.

For live summer camps, classes, and feedback for kids and teens, you can find me on Outschool.com. It's a lot of fun with kids from all over the world.

For adults, the Mom Writer Workshop and the Busy Writer Class both start in the fall in time for #nanowrimo. Reach out through my website, kimpurcell.com.

The Playlist covers the following:

Chapter One: The Miserable Life
Chapter Two: The Big Shock
Chapter Three: The Reaction to the Big Shock and Pursuing a New Goal
Chapter Four: Hitting Obstacles
Chapter Five: A Success Moment
