Our hearts are beaming with excitement and pride as we share with you the official logo of ππ€πƒπ€π†π˜π€π– π…π„π’π“πˆπ•π€π‹ 2024.

The Padagyaw Festival is a lively celebration in Dumarao and its logo captures the spirit of this event beautifully. Each part of the logo has a special meaning, representing the values and unique features of Dumarao.

β€œDagyaw” or the Bayanihan Spirit
The utmost meaning of Padagyaw Festival is the ancient culture of the people of Dumarao – β€˜Dagyaw’ or the Bayanihan Spirit. This Filipino value represents unity and working together. β€œPadagyaw” in particular is a local term for Bayanihan used by the town natives to describe working together to help one another without monetary exchange. Hence, the logo shows how the people of Dumarao help each other and work as one community. This spirit is the heart of the festival, reminding everyone that they are stronger when they work together.

Ati’s Handmade Crafts
The logo also includes handmade crafts made of Nito. Nito products are made from the dried midribs or vines of the Nito plant, woven by the Ati community, especially those living at Mt. Tag-ao, Brgy. Tamulalod and other Ati settlements in the municipality. By featuring nito crafts, the logo honors the Ati people and their traditional weaving skills. It shows respect for their culture and acknowledges their important role in Dumarao's heritage.

Corn and Rice Grains
Corn and rice grains are also part of the logo. These grains are the main crops grown in Dumarao and are staple foods for its people.
To start with, the name Dumarao came from a variety of rice grain commonly grown in the community called, β€œAraw”. Since then, the place was referred to as β€œDUM-ARAW”, β€œdum” being the Latin equivalent of the Spanish β€œdonde”, meaning β€œwhere”. Thus, Dumaraw means a place where there is ARAW. Accordingly, including them in the logo highlights not just the importance of farming to the local economy and daily life but also the history of the place. It also shows appreciation for the hard work of the farmers who provide food for the community.

Wavy Figure
The wavy shape of the logo symbolizes the land of Dumarao, surrounded by mountains. This shape also represents hope and resilience. Like waves that continue to move regardless of obstacles, the people of Dumarao remain strong and hopeful even in the face of challenges. The wavy figure signifies the community's constant pursuit of progress, navigating through both ups and downs; it illustrates that Dumaraonons can harness both the highs and lows.

Matahum nga Maragtas
β€œMatahum nga Maragtas," meaning "Beautiful History," is an integral part of the Padagyaw Festival. The β€œMatahum nga Maragtas” is an excerpt from the Dumarao Hymn. This theme celebrates the rich history and stories of Dumarao. The logo incorporates elements that reflect these beautiful narratives, emphasizing the town's proud heritage and the tales passed down through generations. This part of the logo reminds the community of their shared history and the importance of preserving these cultural accounts. β€œMatahum nga Maragtas” is a testament that in all circumstances we have faced, we remain steadfast and through these it shaped us to become better and bolder.

Waterfalls
The logo incorporated a waterfall as it is one of the most significant water bodies in the municipality. There are more than ten (10) waterfalls in the town such as Patawan Falls, 13 Falls, Mabusao Falls to name a few. Besides being a testament to the scenic topography of the place the falls also function as a vital component to the advancement of tourism in the municipality, an important water source to various households and the surrounding agricultural lands, and a major contributor to the ecosystem in the area. The natural landscapes and sceneries like these waterfalls depict our flow of life. From scenic lush green vegetation to refreshing turquoise water to soothing sounds and ambience, all sums up that Dumarao has something more to offer.

Dumarao Logo
Established in 1581, the logo of Dumarao is a powerful symbol representing the town's values, dreams, and deep spiritual faith. The grains represent the 11 low-land barangay and 22 up-land barangays. These elements together capture the resilient spirit of the Dumaraonon people, their aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future, and the comforting care of their patroness, encapsulating the essence of Dumarao's rich cultural and spiritual heritage.
