We hope this video inspires you to think about the versatility of non-traditional van builds that may be a better fit for whatever lifestyle you choose.

We are minimalist. We like to get the most out of every dollar we spend. And to be honest, it's not always a choice. So, we couldn't make a huge investment in a fully loaded RV. Not that we wouldn't like a nice Class B, but we couldn't justify the cost since we don't live in a van full-time. In this video we show you how we've recently made a few changes to our E350 extended passenger van, that makes accessing our storage easier without cluttering the van or bulking up the weight and killing our daily gas mileage. Not only are these practical changes, but they aren't permanent which would render the vehicle useless for anything but camping. The bed and storage assembly can be quickly disassembled. This gives us the opportunity to use the van to haul other recreation gear, building materials, and our two large dogs.

The only thing we had to purchase were the snaps, daypack hooks, and the decorative studs. The rest of the materials were items we had on hand. The plywood was left by the roofers when we had to get a new roof for our home and everything else was excess material from our original "build". Trying to use what we have on hand is just one way we save money so we can travel more often throughout the year.
