Based at The Country Club of Birmingham (Alabama), Eric Eshleman is one of the foremost teachers in golf. He has been a PGA (Professional Golf Association of America) member since 1997 and his reputation and success as an instructor earned him recognition as the 2019 Golf Professional of the Year.

He joins #OntheMark to share insights from his work with elite players at the NCAA Division I College level, as well as the lifelong lessons he taught PGA TOUR winner, Davis Thompson - lessons that helped guide Thompson to his first victory on the PGA TOUR in the 2024 John Deere Classic.

Eshleman stresses performance over perfection in the quest for lower scores. As he teaches about this approach he discusses various elements involved in playing golf well:

Removing Emotion from Results
Disregarding Rankings in the Quest for Improvement
Switching on your "Awareness Switch" as the Pressure Heightens
Getting off to Solid Starts
Pre-Shot Routines with an Emphasis on Feel
Shaping Your Swing to the Shot Requirements
Acute Awareness of Personal Tendencies
Fundamentals and their Importance, and
The Beauty of Simplicity
