One sunny morning, in Kirongu village near jungle of Borneo my brother-in-law, William @Kolok set out on a mission to find the perfect rotans to create a beautiful traditional handmade bag known as a "salabit." He had always been fascinated by the intricate art of crafting these bags, and he knew that the key to success was finding the right materials.
As he journeyed deep into the jungle, he stumbled upon a mother pangolin with her tiny baby clinging tightly to her back. William @Kolok had never seen a pangolin before, and he was immediately struck by their unique appearance and behavior. He approached the mother pangolin carefully, trying not to startle her or her baby.
To his surprise, the mother pangolin didn't seem to be afraid of him. She allowed him to get close and even allowed him to pick up her baby and hold it in his arms. William @Kolok overjoyed, and he couldn't wait to show the pangolin family to his wife and children.
Without a second thought, James decided to take the pangolin family home with him. He carefully placed the baby pangolin in a small basket and placed it on the back of his bike, while the mother pangolin followed closely behind.
When William @Kolok arrived home, his family was delighted to see the pangolins. They spent hours playing with the baby pangolin and marveling at the mother pangolin's unique features. William@kolok was convinced that adopting the pangolins was the right thing to do, and he began planning ways to care for them and make them a part of his family.
However, as time went on, William @Kolok realized that keeping pangolins as pets was not a sustainable or ethical choice. He began to research pangolins and learned about their important role in the ecosystem and the dangers they faced from habitat destruction and the illegal wildlife trade.
With a heavy heart, William@Kolok made the difficult decision to let the pangolins go and return them to their natural habitat in the jungle. He knew that it was the right thing to do, even though it was hard to say goodbye to the little family he had grown to love.
As he watched the pangolins scurry off into the jungle, William@Kolok felt a sense of peace knowing that they were free to live their lives as nature intended. He knew that he had made the right decision, and he returned home with a newfound appreciation for the importance of protecting endangered species and their habitats.
