These days the images from Karl Blossfeldt are quite popular again. He was a German photographer who lived from 1865 till 1932.
He is mostly known for his botanical photography that he made for art education.
In this video I want to make photo's in a similar style, not only because I like the images, but also because I can make my own reference material to use with drawing.
I made every image twice, one with a white and one with a black background.
Before I started this project, I had pictures in my head of plants in front of a light background, but now I finished the photo's, I think I like the dark ones better.
What's your preference? Which image is your favorite?

Free Photoshop textures:

(These textures are free to download. For textures I use mostly the blendingmode "multiply" and play with the opacity of the layer until I have the image that I like.)

Free presets:

(You can use these Lightroom presets also in Camera RAW from Photoshop. The free pack has 10 presets, and for this video I used the one called "faded i".)
