The Dutch army poncho is a versatile piece of kit that can be used as a stealth camping shelter, an emergency shelter, a waterproof jacket or even improvised into a stretcher. It's this versatility, along with its low weight and practical design that earn it a space in my rucksack.

As with most of my reviews, I buy the kit myself, particularly when it comes to military surplus and I only ever recommend kit I genuinely like and use.
