"Koru" the track that opened the Pandora's Box of emotional darkness in Ras Muhamad.  During the process of writing, it was intended to be a tribute to his Grunge upbringing and his love of Nirvana. 
While being assisted by his friend, Jordan Vegas; Jordan suggested that Ras picked up the electric guitar.  It would be the first in 20 years that Ras would work on a song with an electric guitar and now it has transformed his song-writing and influenced how Kaleidoscope vol. 1 shaped in sounds. 

the track takes the title from New Zealand's/Aetearoa's original people's philosophy, Koru that signals rebirth.  the title itself was inspired when Ras had a deep connection with a woman who had Koru patterns as her tattoo.  the tattoo design is a sign of rebirth in an upward spiral form."Koru" addresses that Ras can not pretend anymore and that he can not limit himself to being just one dimensional as the renowned Reggae artist.

the track has influences of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Marilyn Manson, Radiohead with an extra flavoring of HipHop from one of Indonesia's fiercest emcees, Tuan TigaBelas.

-- "Koru" adalah track yang mengurai kegelapan dalam diri Ras.  Saat proses menggarap lagu, ia berniat untuk memberi semacam tribut kepada Grunge dan cintanya kepada Nirvana. 
Saat dibantu oleh temannya, Jordan Vegas; Jordan yang beri masukan agar Ras mulai memainkan gitar elektrik. 
Pertama kalinya dalam 20 tahun, Ras Muhamad menggarap lagu dengan gitar listrik dan itu mempengaruh cara ia berkarya dalam Kaleidoscope dan juga mengubah sound dalam album tersebut.

judul lagu diambil dari orang-orang pribumi Zelandia Baru, Koru melambangkan sebuah terlahir kembali dengan perjalan spiral secara vertikal.ada influence dari Nirvana, Soundgarden, Marilyn Manson, Radiohead dengan kejutan dari tamu skena HipHop, Harimau Sumatra Tuan TigaBelas, salah satu rapper terbaik asal Sumatra Indonesia.
