I review the 2024 Ford F150 with the 5L coyote V8 engine to test the Fuel Economy of this engine in the real world. we Compare this 5L V8 engine to the Toyota Tundra 3.4L twin turbo engine, the 3.5L Ecoboost and the 2.7L Ecoboost engine from ford. I also look at the benefits of Cam phasers and the new Cylinder deactivation on the 5L Coyote V8 engines.

I hope everyone is having a good week! I was pretty excited to see how this 5L engine would hold up on my fuel economy loop. I really think this V8 is a great engine and one of those reasons is because how efficient it is.

we are comparing this engine to a number of fuel effcient twin turbo charged engine like the toyota tundra 3.4L twin turbo charged I-force engine and the 3.5l Ecoboost engines all of which are designed primarily with fuel economy in mind.

As you guys saw through the video this 5L v8 is really not that far off either of those engines. in fact it was more efficient then the toyota during all legs of the fuel economy loop. which I thought was impressive.

I also talked about the CAM phasers and the cylinder deactivation both of which Im not really a fan of but when it comes to fuel economy both can help this larger V8.

Overall This V8 engine is wonderfully efficient but has the benefit of not needing a complex twin turbo charged set up to get power.
