Okay, I know that Ariel may not be the best princess for Logan (what-) but think with me:
Logan is the logic.
In Heart vs Mind we saw that Logan also represents Thomas' curiosity, or at least he is extremely curious/interested in our world, in how things work.
Ariel gave his own voice to see this world! (Ariel gave her voice for the world not for man, fight me) All she wanted most was to see our world! The surface! She was always very curious and interested in learning more about the world.
ok i'm just trying to justify it when in fact i just wanted to make logince cuz it's one of my favorite ships-
