The 5v5 vs 6v6 discussion has been a controversial topic in the Overwatch community ever since the release of Overwatch 2. With the recent patch in Season 11, tanks are now more powerful than they ever have been. Due to the changes the tank role has definitely seen a rise in popularity, which is evident from the longer queue times when queueing for tank. The patch has achieved what it has set out to do, but opponents of 5v5 see the patch as evidence of the inherent imbalance necessary to make 5v5 work.
