These Thumbprint Cookies are simple to bake and iced with Royal Icing. They are "melt-in-your mouth" soft and buttery cookies.

Here is what you will need for the cookies:
4 ounces of room temperature butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1 egg yolk
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour, sifted

For the Royal Icing:
1 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 TBP milk
