Today I am building a clamp storage rack that can house whatever kind of clamps you are using in your shop.

it holds up to 12 bar clamps per arm, includes storage for spring clamps, and be customized from 15 inches to 90 inches in length to fit your space.

lets build it.

There are two projects I need to check off the list before my 50,000 subscriber shop tour. revising my clamp storage is one of them.

currently I have this space for clamps, it was quick to throw together and has been around for a few years.

my mistake, and one I hope to help you avoid is this: it really only accommodates only one type of clamp. bar clamps. and, it was set up for the clamps I owned, plus only a few extra, leaving me little room to grow my collection.

these are great, they've been beside me every time I ride into battle. they're cheap and a great way to start building your clamp collection.

a wide variety of clamp options exist, pipe clamps, parallel bar clamps, pistol grip. sick name. pipe clamps, c clamps the list goes on for quite some time.

so i started researching and gathering data to build the ultimate clamp holder. which I found on the rockler website.

one more quick side note, especially if you are watching this and are trying to decide WHERE to put your clamps. if you have a shallow space, say less than 6" next to your garage door or behind a walk in door, there are clamp holders that fit perfectly in these areas. you can also utilize that space for paint cans or stains.

(remove stuff from wall)

i am putting mine here on this wall. so bulging out is not an issue for me, and I can build my clamp holder to support several clamps per arm.

so I am going to replicate this design. i want two or three to hang on the wall for when I begin transitioning from bar clamps to nicer parallel bar clamps.
