These devices appear, for instance, in the phrase "o me dolente," where a descending chromatic cadence adds emotional depth.

For example, in the line "corro alle selve al mio cielo," the ascending melodic motion (anabasis) mirrors the text's imagery. The piece also makes use of exclamatio and pausa to emphasize emotional content, as heard in "Lassa che dico! Ah misera chi chiamo?" enhancing the drama and anguish of the character.
