In June 2024, Norfolk Southern released a locomotive saluting its employees, the 4822 "Thank You To the Railroaders" unit. When we found the 4822 coming to New York state, we had the opportunity to chase the short manifest (4822 the sole leader) along the CPKC Canadian Subdivision and eventually the NS Freight Line in the southern tip of the Adirondacks & Capital region. We see the unit switching/working in Saratoga Yard and along the way, see a CPKC local (Canadian Pacific GP20C's) and two Amtraks. Really great spending time on a line we've never seen before chasing a train/locomotive we've never seen before. NS did a great job with 4822 and we were glad to chase it for a good 50-60 miles.
