The iconic Gull Wing Bridge in Lowestoft opened to traffic on 7 September 2024, marking a significant day in the history of the town. A Third Crossing over Lake Lothing, which cuts the town in two, has been talked about since 1918 but after many generations of campaigning the Gull-Wing Bridge is finally open. At 9am on opening day local residents got the unique chance to walk around on the bridge before it was open to traffic. I was one of the first across of course!
