It's finally here, after almost 7 years, the wait is over. Geometry Dash 2.2 is out and available for the masses to enjoy and argue over.

As expected, there are a ton of controversial changes that have been made to the game, many of which I find disappointing. The quality of life changes that I've seen thus far are very nice, but far from worth it considering the features that have been harmed by the update.

Dash is a pretty neat addition to the main level catalogue. I found myself enjoying it significantly more than Fingerdash, but the coins in Dash are just too damn hidden. And if that's how secret coins have always been, I wouldn't think much of it. But Robtop seems to have taken an approach similar to the Subzero coin situation when it comes to this new level. I'm not sure why he thought that would be received well, but I hope he releases an update to make the coins a bit clearer to the average player.

As far as I can tell, Robtop did in fact "fix" desync issues, but the problem is that every sync based level currently in the game was made with this fault sync system, so as a result, none of those levels sync anymore. On the bright side, it will be easier to make consistent sync-based levels, or at least that how it seems on paper.

The physics of the game have been changed so drastically that it's resulted in countless classic levels becoming impossible. I have no idea what was going through his head when Robtop decided to mess with the physics this much. I hope he includes a feature in the settings to toggle between 2.1 and 2.2 physics depending on what level you want to play, but we may have to rely on Absolute for such things.

Speaking of Absolute, Megahack is dead for the time being. We'll have to wait for Absolute to release a new version of Megahack that's compatible with 2.2. I hope Absolute focuses for now on adapting the old Megahack to 2.2 rather than making a whole new update right away. But of course, he's the expert, so don't rush the poor guy.

From what I've experienced, 2.2 seems to focus more on quantity over quality. There's an absurd amount of content added to this update, but I and so many others are still left feeling underwhelmed.

I have yet to play much platformer mode, but it seems that I was completely correct in assuming I wasn't going to like it, but it seems to be making some people happy.

I hope Robtop will be receptive to the feedback from the community and willing to change things to suit our best interests.

Let me know what you guys would like to see for my next 2.2 video.

I really hope you enjoy.
