Walking around Wulai Old Town 2 days after Typhoon Haikui hit Southeastern Taiwan. The river flow and volume increase resulted from the heavy rain. During the normal day the river is green and beautiful. The taxi driver told us that the water is the source that supplies to the whole Taipei.

However lucky enough to experience such an aftermath due to typhoon.


Taxi ride from Taipei (Chiang Khai Sek Memorial Hall) to Wulai took about an hour, around TWD710. Although expensive but due to time constraint and convenience this was the best choice. On the way back to Taipei we took bus and MRT. The bus station location is within walking distance and only TWD15 perperson to Xindian Stop. You can pay cash too on the bus.

Hopefully my video gives a clearer idea about the distances.

The log cart was closed on that day so we missed the opportunity to enjoy the ride
Nevertheless the short trip was wonderful.
