This is story behind the song Threshing Floor. In ancient Hebrew culture, the threshing floor is where the harvest was brought and the chaff, the unwanted parts, where torn from the wheat till all that was left is the harvest, the good stuff. To pray for the Lord to take us through the Threshing floor is to trust him to remove everything that is in the way. To tear from us whatever is keeping from drawing closer to the Lord, even the things we think we want that actually hurting us.
