Gary Davis doubled for Evel Knievel. After filming the Evel Knievel television pilot, he was called into action to replace the King of Daredevils on a tour of Europe. When he returned stateside, they filmed Viva Knievel together.

Mr. Davis got as much action as the movie producers could dream up -- involving cliffsides, tigers, lions, and roaring flames. Here he talks with Lathan about the adventures of America's bicentennial year.
