our MERCH https://www.vanwives.com Do you have DDD? Symptoms include sitting around, laying in bed and generally not getting things done. Yes, we have the dreaded Dilly Dally Disorder! But thankfully we have the cure: a spin-wheel of tasks that we have to do no matter what. Sometimes DDD sneaks up on you and looks like a completed task, but it's secretly a "98%," which seems like a finished project where you stopped just short of getting it done. That's still DDD! We started out with one we've been putting off with for a while now: sealing the tile and fixing the bathroom plumbing. Then the wheel decided it was onto installing our new quartz countertop & sink, which we were both looking forward to. Except we put the countertop on before we realized we needed to install shiplap on the remaining wall in the bathroom. Oops! And of course, the dreaded procrastination song of DDD started playing! But motivation begets motivation, so if you can plow through and keep going, you'll find that just starting will often give you the motivation you need to finish. And that lead us to our next important task: SECURITY. Yes, we finally installed our cameras! Next, the wheel finally rewarded us with some well-earned couch potato time. Then it was onto the battery house for our off-grid electrical system which, when completed, will give us 28,000 AH of electricity! And after a pizza break (the wheel decided, not us!), we finally got around to tidying the garage. The point isn't always to finish every task, it's to get started, and the wheel can help give you motivation to start! No matter how daunting a "to-do" list may seem, we can still slow down and enjoy the little moments in between, and in our case, after, as we reward ourselves with an invigorating polar dip! Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands.
