On the first Saturday of the new school season, me, ‪@Surfliner6905‬, & Fort Worth Railfan Productions took an entire day to railfan East Texas on the UP Mineola Sub. We started our morning in Forney where we saw 2 trains. Then as we were leaving Forney we got word of an eastbound getting out of Marith siding in Mesquite, so we paced it to Elmo where it showed after about 5 minutes, along with a westbound manifest sitting in the siding waiting for that train. Then we went to Edgewood to try to make it for Amtrak, but there was another westbound ahead of it so we got a chance to see that as well, along with the eastbound we saw at Elmo sitting in the Edgewood siding. Then after Amtrak passed, we decided to see the train we saw in Elmo a few crossings west of Mineola Station. Then we headed to the station where a westbound snuck up on us because of the new signal system, and therefore I didn't have time to set up my camera. Then about an hour later an eastbound train was aligned so we decided to chase it up to Gladewater. Then as we were leaving we saw another eastbound going through the new Virtual Railfan cam at Big Sandy so we decided to stay for it. Then we stopped by Big Sandy to take a look at the new cam. Then as we were heading back to Mineola we got word of another eastbound around the area so we pulled over to a crossing in New Hope to catch it. Then as we got back to Mineola we saw another eastbound coming out of the siding so we made a U turn and headed back to New Hope but to a different crossing. Then once we got back to Mineola the freight action pretty much died. So when we were heading back to DFW we decided to stop at Wills Point to see Amtrak. Originally we were gonna see it at Fada but because it was 2 1/2 hours late we didn't wanna stay out too late. And after that we called it a day.
