It's our first time in Istanbul, Turkey! In this video, we're sharing our first impressions of this ancient city. First we cross the unique two-story Galata Bridge full of fishermen above and jellyfish below. By the time we reach the other side, we've found our appetites and, thankfully, many vendors selling new-to-us street foods. We try different Turkish foods and my new favourite drink: sahlep. Hunger satisfied, we make our way to the most famous site in Istanbul: Hagia Sophia. It has a long history as a place of worship, both as a church and a mosque. Nearby is the Blue Mosque and we go inside to take a look. As the sun is setting, we make our way down to the water to see the ruins of a palace that was first constructed in the 5th century. It's a glorious first day in Istanbul and I think you can tell how giddy we are to be exploring such an incredible place.
