"Come on up and join the party right here," said keyboard man Kevin Bong near the end of San Diego reggae band Stick Figure's Friday night performance at Pacific Beach's 710 Beach Club on May 7.

At Bong's request, more fans joined the dozen or so who had already climbed on stage to dance. The four members of the band happily made room and mingled as they continued with a cover of Slightly Stoopid's "If This World Were Mine" that shifted into "The Youth Are Getting Restless" from Bad Brains.

The audience participation was a fittingly fun finish to an enjoyable 90-minute set. Stick Figure played songs from all three of their full-length albums, including newer numbers like "Livin' It" as well as "White Fire" and the title track from the album Burnin' Ocean, released in 2008.

The band closed out its set with "Hawaii Song" from 2010's Smoke Stack.

Stick Figure is front man Scott Woodruff on guitar, Brendan Dane on bass, Todd Smith on drums, and Kevin Bong on keys. http://www.stickfiguremusic.com/
