Just about every person seeks after wisdom of one kind or another: From book smarts to hands-on experiences to relationship knowledge. It’s good to seek after wisdom! The Bible tells us, however, that to be truly wise, we need to start somewhere else: With the LORD! The book of Proverbs is filled with God’s wisdom written down by wise King Solomon. Through the book of Proverbs, we learn to see the world through God’s eyes, and we realize that God’s wisdom is much different than worldly knowledge.

In this first lesson, we studied the starting point of wisdom: The Fear of the LORD. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). We discussed what the “fear of the LORD” is and why it’s necessary to fear the LORD in order to be truly wise. We hope you can watch our Bible study. God bless you!
