During the last Bundesliga matchday, Rudi Völler ended his career as an official at Bayer 04 Leverkusen with an emotional day on Saturday, 14 May 2022. His farewell on the pitch, the 2-1 last-minute victory against SC Freiburg, with lap of honour, laola wave and on the fence amidst the fans, and his last interviews in his function as managing director of sport at the works club. We accompanied our departing legend at close quarters on that emotional day - from before the game to the big farewell party in the evening in the Leverkusen casino.
