Presenting the world premiere of American composer Adam Schoenberg’s 'Rise' – performed by conductor John Burdett and the Azusa Pacific University Wind Ensemble.

Led by the Wind Ensembles of Azusa Pacific University (Dr. John Burdett, conductor) and Cal Poly Pomona (Dr. Ricky Badua, conductor), the California Wind Band Commission Consortium--a 32 member consortium made up of the finest college, university, and high school wind bands from the state-- commissioned acclaimed California composer Adam Schoenberg to write a work for wind band.
Only his second piece for the medium, Rise is a two-movement work exemplifying Schoenberg's unmistakable compositional language, resulting in a vibrant, energetic, poignant and optimistic musical experience.
