I wish I could show you all of the adventures we had here in Upper Michigan but we packed a lot of sightseeing in while we were here. One of the most outstanding was a boat trip on Lake Superior for the Pictured Rock tour where we saw several waterfalls spilling in to the lake.

Stepping Stone Falls is a man made work of art in Michigan on the Flint River. It's very easy access compared to all the falls we've been to so far. Being man made gives it a different twist and it is a work of art.

The 13 miles of colorful Sandstone walls and coves of pictured rocks were painted by minerals like copper, Iron and lime that leak out from the groudwater and springs.

There are many caves and rock arches etched into the shore walls. Rainbow cave is the deepest formation along the coast.

One of the rock formations is named Indian Head after what people say looks like and old Indian;s profile. One formation resembles three massive battleship bows in a row. A cylindtrical formation with a narrow base is called Flower Vase. It even has trees growing from the top.

The 65 foot boat backs into Chapel Cove to give a closeup view of the vertical walls.

The Spray Falls cascades 70 feet over the cliffs into Lake Superior from Spray Creek.
