In this video we restore the A501 RAM expansion for our new Commodore Amiga 500. This card has some damage from a leaking battery so we fix the damage, replace the capacitors and install an alternative battery solution that should not leak in the future. We also discuss the mod done to the Amiga 500 that changes the expansion from providing pseudo-fast (slow) RAM to chip RAM accessible to the customer chips like Fat Agnus and Denise.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO
I am still waiting on the cap kit for the Amigas so I guess you do what you can do. I ordered the capacitors, along with a bunch of other goodies, a couple weeks ago from Retro Rewind but they seem to have been lost in the black hole that is the USPS in Chicago. At least the replacement socket for the Motorola 68000 is here!
