This was a fun project that I did at my friend Joe's house during the heat of summer.
In this video I show you how to build a timber privacy fence on top of a brick wall, there was actually two reasons why we needed to lift the height of the fence, 1. for pool compliance, and 2. to gain some privacy from the nosey neighbours.

Raise the height of your backyard wall; this is a simple method to build a good looking fence, you can custom your own measurements as this is just a guide, and below is some suggested materials and fixings to use, and some tools you may need.

The stuff and things I use and recommend, when clicked these links will take you directly to Amazon or an eBay site, InspireDIY is an Amazon associate/eBay Affiliate. Using these links does not impact the price in anyway for you, but InspireDIY may be able to earn from recommendations.

Drop Saw, I used an Ozito Compound Mitre Saw 8 1/4", other options are https://amzn.to/3k4K3b0

This will look good on your side and your neighbours side too, it can be stained or painted to match any existing colour schemes that you have.
This 23 mtr timber fence topper was built from weather treated timber so it will last for years and years, and the total cost (not including any tools you may need) was $350 AUD (although it seems the cost of timber has increased recently)

Remember to check out your local legislation around pool fencing and don’t just copy what I’ve made here, each property and region will have different requirements.

Any questions, I’d love to help, and if you’re wondering about it - most likely someone else is too, so feel free to ask.
