After catching hundreds of fish using my 2007 Shimano Compre 70UL and 2002 Shimano Ultegra 2500 for 17 years, I finally decided to upgrade. Picked up the RZ71ML, which was equipped with CNT blank, real wood burl real seat, super high grade cork handle, and Fuji Titanium frame Torzite guides, this Tenryu flagship trout rod designed for medium to large sized trout plugging applications showcases an absolutely outrageous fusion of functionality and artistic craftsmanship. To match up with this piece of art, I had to go with the 2023 Shimano Cardiff XR C2000S. The combo weighs nothing in hand and looks as good as it gets.

Together with the combo I picked up the Simms Freestone Hip Pack. Love the capacity of it, the superb practicality-oriented design which enables the medium sized hard case to function not only as storage but also as a platform for tying lures or change hooks while standing in the water.
