Nick Wallis, author of 'The Great Post Office Scandal', tells TalkTV how an investigation by the Post Office's David Smith into the Horizon system was not independent, labelling it a "whitewash".

It comes former Post Office chairman Sir Michael Hodgkinson has told the Horizon IT inquiry he “didn’t do anything” to check if the business was prosecuting its own people properly.

After Sir Michael said he was not informed during his induction that the Post Office prosecuted its own staff, Sam Stein KC, who represents a number of subpostmasters, asked: “So when did you learn about the process of prosecution by the Post Office of which you were chair?”

Sir Michael said: “I think that was much later on.”
