Nestled between the Central and Coastal Mountain Ranges, the East Rift Valley is the crown jewel of Taiwan. Is there a better way to experience the valley than on a bicycle? The trip started in the capital city of Taipei. I am first taking the business class on EMU3000 express train to Hualien, followed by two days of riding to Taitung. The plan is to ride 100km a day passing through the most beautiful sceneries: by the ocean, over bridges, through forests and crossing paddy fields.
