A new ‪@greenpeace‬ International report reveals that the gas industry is pushing the U.S. & Europe into contracts that would roast the planet. Exports of LNG (liquefied natural gas) to Europe have increased by a whopping 1,767% since 2018 with the gas industry pushing us into long-term contracts. John Beard explains how this LNG expansion threatens the Black, Brown, Indigenous, and poor communities disproportionately harmed by pollution and climate impacts from these export terminals, extraction sites, and pipelines, such as in the Gulf Coast of the U.S.

This is fossil fuel racism.

❌ LNG is NOT natural.
❌ LNG is NOT clean energy
❌ LNG is NOT green.

LNG is a threat to human health and our planet’s health. The Biden Administration must take swift measures to stop approving new LNG projects and initiate the global phase-out of fossil fuels necessary for a livable future.

John Beard, Jr. is the founder, president, and executive director of the Port Arthur Community Action Network (PA-CAN). He serves as a community advocate focused on environmental issues and community development in the Port Arthur/Southeast Texas area.
